📊 First Steps with Business Intelligence
At our Company, we are starting to implement data-informed approach to analyzing the state of things and making decisions for improvement. As of Q'3 - Q’4 2022, some teams are testing the tool, using demo reports and dashboards offered by the vendor as a way to start. You can check sample reports here - https://docs.eazybi.com/eazybi/learn-more/learn-eazybi-through-sample-reports and sample dashboards here - https://docs.eazybi.com/eazybi/learn-more/demo-accounts
We do have teams who have already been implementing data analysis and reporting for couple years, to identify areas for optimization and to track performance within the team, as well as to share the progress with other teams. Our trailblazers are Customer Support Team 😎
For other teams there would be a different set of metrics and the underlying data to look at. The final goal is to build up our corporate data intelligence capabilities to a stage when we have a unified source of truth, from which we can draw multiple insights on a cross-team level.
🛠️ Tool we Use for Business Intelligence
There are hundreds of SaaS vendors offering tools for data analytics and business intelligence - from very simple drag and drop options to ones that require advanced data modelling and business analysis skills.
What makes EasyBI stand out is that it allows to import data not only from Atlassian products, but also dynamic data from other vendors' products (e.g. apps on Atlassian marketplace, Google workplace, etc.), as well as static data files that we might have on hard drives. As a result, we can overlay the different types of data and explore multiple aspects of how we work, what helps us being more productive and what causes disruptions. Some examples of data sourced outside of Atlassian ecosystem:
time spent on work besides issues (on calls, trainings, etc.)
financial and accounting data
At the same time, EazyBI is a low-code analytics tool which can be used by business teams for surfacing the insights relevant to their specific questions.

EazyBI has accounts-based access configurations, which is separate from Jira permissions schema. EazyBI admin role is separate from Jira Admin role.
Therefore, if you would like to create dashboards for your team or department, or perhaps for tracking your own individual productivity, you need to request access using the form on our Employee Service Portal.
